Biografi

Jackie Chan mengawali karir akting di tahun 1960an. Awalnya, ia hanya berperan sebagai stuntman atau pemeran pengganti aktor utama dalam aksi-aksi berbahaya saja. Ia kemudian mendapat beberapa peran kecil dalam film-film Hong Kong di era 60an, seperti The Love Eterne dan Come Drink with Me. Karirnya mulai mendapat perhatian setelah ia menjadi stuntman aktor populer, Bruce Lee pada film Fist of Fury dan Enter the Dragon. Film sukses pertamanya adalah Snake in the Eagle's Shadow yang diproduseri oleh Lo Wei.

Film Drunken Master di tahun 1978 kemudian membuat nama Jackie Chan kian terkenal. Film ini menjadi titik popularitasnya. Dengan menggabungkan unsur action dan komedi, Jackie Chan juga diberi kebebasan untuk menentukan sendiri koreografer action di pertarungan dalam film. Chan kemudian terkenal sering membintangi film dengan genre serupa. Ia kemudian mulai dikenal industri film internasional dengan membintangi film The Big Brawl yang merupaka film Hollywood pertamanya. Saat itu, ia sudah menjadi aktor Hong Kong terpopuler.

Di akhir era 80an dan awal 90an, Jackie Chan konsisten fokus pada franchise film bergenre action comedy, sebut saja seperti Police Story series, Lucky Star trilogy, series Armour of God hingga sekuel Drunken Master. Kesuksesan internasional pun diraih setelah perilisan series Rush Hour bersama aktor Amerika, Chris Tucker.
